Clearly my body reacts differently to food intake than others. I have stated this for decades. I gain more weight than others given the same input.

Part of the current problem is I have been on a large does of prednisone for 12 days (today is the last day) and prednisone is known for inducing fluid retention. So a lot of this is probably water weight.

You have a rash because of your rapid weight loss/gain. This happens to astronauts after prolonger zero gravity exposure and then returning back to Earth.  You've basically created a gravity field around your fatbody.

That’s why you should be doing workouts in a pool.  The buoyancy in water will take a lot of stress off of your legs and joints.  Get a pair of aqua socks or water shoes so that you have traction and do some slow walking in the pool water.

This will be better than anything your trainer is doing for you.

My issues are actually more fundamental. I don't even move correctly. I have a lot of limitations on my range of motion and am impacted by balance issues. That won't improve by just walking. Nothing wrong with walking. Just saying that I have more basic issues.

No. I have a condition called Sweet's Syndrome as confirmed by skin biopsy.

The balance issues are a problem, but doing some pool walking or even kicking your legs in the water whilst holding onto the side of the pool will greatly improve that condition.  Getting normal blood flow into the muscles and tissues of your legs is paramount to your overall weight loss objectives.

If you don’t get your legs functioning well enough to eventually allow you to go for decent walks, you will end up in a wheelchair and, once that happens, it’s extremely difficult to ever live a normal and ambulatory life again.  Your leg muscles will waste away and you’ll forever be stuck in the wheelchair.

There are therapy clinics that have small pools and lap pools where you could rehab your legs without dealing with the issues associated with public pools.

Hopefully it is largely water weight and you will lose it quickly.  Consider it to be just a temporary setback.

I'm still hoping for a 0.5SU Spanky at some point!

You may have gained some muscle weight if you've been doing exercise. Get back on track!

"confirmed"

You must be new to this. Nothing is ever confirmed when it comes to health care.

Agree. It definitely sounds like the confirmation that you had a functioning brain has turned out to be inaccurate.

My pet theory on Gaunt Astronaut Rash is to be considered above a pathology report on a skin biopsy!!

Good luck!  I think you can do it but keep in mind that as you approach a normal weight the losses will become slower and harder. (so don't get discouraged by this - it's normal) OTOH as you approach normal you should be able to exercise more.  So to seal the deal at the end you'll probably have to ramp up on the exercise such as walking.

When I first read this I was disappointed but then I saw another thread where you had mentioned you had been taking prednisone and that explains it.

Prednisone will make anybody gain tons of weight.

When taking prednisone huge weight gains are normal and are to be expected,
